I connect to this monograph like no other. Kwame Brathwaite’s photography, vision, advocacy, creative direction and so much more is an inspiration and in alignment to who I am as a creator and serve as a model for excellence. Black Is Beautiful touches upon and reflects so beautifully, not only the moment, but his involvement in many of the subjects during his life also known as the second Harlem Renaissance which are still equally relevant up to this very moment; civil rights, social justice, culture, heritage, music, fashion, entertainment and self determination.
